Doctor Home Visit or Hospital? How Families in Hyderabad Can Decide

Reviewed by Dr. Murali Bhaskar (MBBS, FDM, MBA Healthcare) · 6 min read

Not every illness needs a hospital — and not every illness can wait. Here is a simple way to decide what is right for your family member.

A home visit is usually enough when

  • The patient is awake, talking and breathing comfortably.
  • Fever, cough, cold, body pain, loose motions or vomiting are mild to moderate.
  • It is a regular check of BP, sugar or thyroid, or a medicine review.
  • The patient is elderly, bedridden or recovering after discharge, and travel is difficult.
  • A catheter, feeding tube, dressing or injection is needed.

Go to hospital when

Emergency signs

Chest pain, stroke signs (face drooping, arm weakness, slurred speech), severe breathlessness, unconsciousness, fits, heavy bleeding, major injury, or oxygen below 90%. Dial 108.

How a home visit works with us

  • Book online or WhatsApp us. A ₹300 deposit confirms the slot and is deducted from the final bill.
  • Dr. Murali Bhaskar reviews the details and assigns the nearest qualified network doctor (GP or MD Physician).
  • The doctor examines at home, gives a written prescription and arranges lab tests at home if needed.
  • Follow-up advice continues on WhatsApp or teleconsultation.

Home visits start from ₹1,000 depending on distance, timing and procedures. Teleconsultations are a flat ₹300.

This article is general health information for families and is not a substitute for a doctor's examination. Numbers given here are guides — every patient is different. If you are unsure, call us or your nearest emergency service. In an emergency in India, dial 108 for an ambulance.
